Abstract
Universal power laws typical for the on-off intermittency are observed experimentally in an electronic circuit of two bidirectionally coupled autonomous chaotic oscillators. It is shown that an exponential falloff in the distribution of the laminar phases appears due to a small mismatch of the nearly identical oscillators. The dispersion of the local transverse Lyapunov exponents is estimated from the exponential falloff.
