Abstract

An equilibrium problem for a 3D elastic body with a crack is considered. We assume that nonpenetration boundary conditions and Coulomb friction law are imposed on the crack faces. This leads to the formulation of a problem as a quasi-variational inequality. For solving auxiliary problems with given friction occurring on each outer step of the method of successive approximations we use duality scheme based on the modified Lagrange functional. Computational results illustrating the efficiency of the proposed algorithm are presented.
