Abstract

Nonleptonic hyperon decays are studied in the framework of new s-u symmetry and absence rule for an octet spurion. It is shown that the Lee-Sugawara relation is derived from the symmetry instead of R (or RP) reflection for parity conserving decay amplitudes, and from the absence rule in t channel for parity violating decay amplitudes, and that the characteristic properties of decay amplitudes especially appearing in Σ-decay modes are well reproduced.
