Abstract
The author collected two specimens of each of the above rare Japanese waders at Tsujido, Kanagawa Prefecture, Honshu, during the autumn, 1949.Brief descriptions of these specimens are given, with a summary of the species' known habits, distributions, migrations, and other recent records. He considers both species to be rare though regular migants in Japan rather than stragglers. These are the first specimen records of Calidris melanotos for Honshu.
