Abstract
In this paper, we study the concepts of n-absorbing and weakly n-absorbing submodules of modules over a commutative ring with non-zero unity which is a generalization of prime and weakly prime submodules. We have proved number of results concerning these concepts. We have also given an application of the 2-absorbing avoidance theorem for submodules.
