Abstract

Measures of importance are quantitative criteria for ordering different components in the coherent system based on their critical roles in the functioning performance or the failure of the system. Brief review of measures of importance for the case of binary systems is presented. Extensions of measures of importance are introduced for the multistate coherent system. The main relations between these measures are established and some of their properties are also considered.
