Abstract
When R is a complete local ring containing a field of characteristic zero, we show that any maximal ideal in R[ T, T −1] is projectively generated. If R is a regular ring containing a field of characteristic zero, we show that any maximal ideal M of R[ T] such that ht M ⩾ dim R is efficiently generated.
