Abstract

This paper deals with the programming of a minicom puter system which is connected to a small solar heating system to create a model of a larger solar heating system. The program enables the computer to serve as an on-line control and real-time data col lection system. The small solar heating system is heavily instrumented to provide dynamic input data to the computer. The output of the computer program simulates the operation of a much larger solar heat ing system. This combination of software with the hardware has proven to be a broadly useful research tool for solar-heating investigations. This paper describes both aspects of the simulation model.
