Abstract

On December 2–3, 2022, Moscow hosted the IV All-Russian Demographic Forum with International Participation (hereinafter referred to as the Forum) organized by the Institute for Demographic Research – branch of the Federal Center for Theoretical and Applied Sociology of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IDR FCTAS RAS) with the support of the Department for Social Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. The Forum brought together scientists, politicians and representatives of civil society to discuss the priority national interests of the country related to saving the Russian population and developing its human potential, which were approved by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation in July 2021. Within the framework of the plenary, the breakout sessions and the round tables of the Forum, special attention was devoted to the consideration of the demographic situation in Russia in 2022, the development of a strategy for a national family and demographic policy aimed at increasing the birth rate, forming of motivation for having more children, the self-preserving behavior of the Russian population, and the regulation of migration processes.
