Abstract

The condition for interface equilibrium, in which the Eshelby's energymomentum tensor is recognized as a generalization of the chemical potential in Gibbs' classical results, is used to evaluate the stability of the shape of inclusions in an infinite body with Eshelby's results for infinitesimal transformation strains.
