Abstract

Recently, it has been proposed that, by the randomizing texturing of the surface of a sheet of material of refractive index n , the internal light intensity can be enhanced by a factor of up to 2n^{2} . This proposal subsequently has been challenged with an enhancement of 8n , argued to be the correct figure. The difference is shown to be due to an error in the latter argument. With the error removed, it also supports the original figure of 2n^{2} enhancement.
