Abstract

Summary This paper aims to decide whether a course on Mathematical Education influenced the views of students attending the course. A statistical analysis is given which indicates that the undergraduates’ views were in fact changed by the course but leaves an open question concerning the relative importance of ‘predictive use of mathematics’ and ‘educated intuition’.
