Abstract
The topic of General Principles of Engineering Methods is one of key topics in the field of methodology of engineering. Six general principles of engineering methods are proposed and analyzed in this essay.They are the principle of interdependence and interaction of engineering views and engineering methods; the principle of the trinity of hardware, software and orgware; the principle of the choice, integration and trade-off in the use of engineering methods; the principle of feasibility, security and beneficial results; the principle of the combination of engineering innovation and compliance with the engineering specifications; and the principle of satisfaction and pursuit of excellence and harmony under constraint conditions.
