Abstract

A wide class of boundary integral equations has convolutional principal part and also satisfies a Garding inequality. For these strongly elliptic integral equations, Galerkin’s procedure with regular finite elements can be fully discretised leading to a modified collocation method which combines optimal order of convergence with fast and simple computability.
