Abstract

Little work appears to have been done on applying fuzzy set ideas to the problem of software reliability. However, given the many subjective factors that influence software reliability, it is not an unreasonable proposition that a proper framework for dealing with the subject must include elements from the theory of fuzzy sets. In this paper, we apply the concept of fuzzy random variables to the problem of debugging of software faults. Some reliability measures associated with our model are derived and illustrative numerical examples are presented.
