Abstract

Let be a class of modules. We introduce the notion of -extensions. For any modules A and B, we show that, if lies in the left part of a balanced pair, then there is a bijection between the equivalence classes of -extensions of A by B and where is computed using a left -resolution of A. We also give a new counterexample to an open question related to balanced pairs posted by Enochs.
