Abstract

The Braginskii magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) equations are used to derive anomalous transport equations in the presence of electromagnetic fluctuations. The structure of convective energy fluxes and source terms in the energy balance equation is investigated in some detail. For low-frequency electrostatic turbulence, the energy flux has a unique numerical factor 3/2 in its convective part. However, for magnetic turbulence, the convective energy flux, which is proportional to the particle flux induced by magnetic fluctuations, has a numerical factor 5/2. The physical meaning of the source terms in the energy balance equation is clarified.
