Abstract

The dependence of the equilibrium charge distribution of light ions with atomic numbers Z from 4 to 8 on the film thickness has been investigated for ions moving a velocities nu approximately=(8-11)*108 cm s-1 in thin celluloid films. It has been found that at U<V0Z, equilibrium thickness is a function of the initial ionic charge and the electron capture cross section for charged ions in solids is less than that in gases.
