Abstract
Here we show that there exist closed timelike curves in Godel spacetime with total acceleration less than \({2\pi\sqrt{9+6\sqrt{3}}}\). This settles a question posed by Malament (J Math Phys 26:774–777, 1985; J Math Phys 28:2427–2430, 1987).
