Abstract

The details of flow dynamics during the interaction of microwave filament regarded as heated layer and aerodynamic body in a supersonic flow are under consideration. Mechanism of drag force reduction for symmetrically located filament is discussed. For asymmetrically located filament the reason of drag force enhancement for particular filament characteristics and location is established. The mechanism is shown to connect with forming the heat piston in front of the body inside a shock layer. Limited length and infinite filaments are considered. Dynamics of local Mach number, parameters in the stagnation point (including its position), drag, lift and pitch forces are researched. The problems are considered in plane and cylinder statement.
