Abstract

This paper investigates the robust stability of linear neutral delay systems. The uncertain time delay neutral systems under consideration are described by functional differential equations of neutral type with norm bounded nonlinear uncertainties and unknown constant delays. The novelty here is to consider a delay dependent robust stability approach leading to less conservative results than when dealing with robust stability independent of the delay time. The analysis is performed via Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional approach. Sufficient conditions for delay-dependent robust stability are given in terms of the existence of positive definite solutions of linear matrix inequalities. The proposed stability analysis extends previous results obtained either for delay-dependent stability without robustness issues or for robust delay-independent stability.
