Abstract

To guarantee the next generation narrow band systems from Ultra Wideband (UWB) interference, the coexistence issue between OFDM-MIMO system and UWB system is studied in the indoor environment, using physical layer model simulation method. Based on the corresponding standards, OFDM-MIMO and UWB system models are established with the SIMULINK tool. Considering the environment and system parameters, the effective isotropic radiate power (EIRP) limit can be calculated in the basis of system bit error rate (BER). Nine operation bands are selected to cover all that used by OFDM-MIMO based wireless systems. Analysis of the coexistence issue is performed not only in single UWB system situation, but also in aggregate scenario. Finally, a developed UWB spectrum mask is demonstrated, which provides a theoretical evidence to constitute Chinese UWB spectrum mask.
