Abstract

The paper focuses on Chalmer s theory of consciousness as it is presented in his most recent book, The Conscious Mind, published in 1996. The first part is devoted to a presentation of the main outlines of Chalmer s theory. The second part discusses such a theory by focusing on the metaphysical plausibility of the existence of zombies as well as on the notion of supervenience.
