Abstract

A chemical correlation is described by which the two adducts resulting from a catalyzed addition of trans-piperylene to 2-methyl-2-cyclohexenone, 7 and 8, are proven to be stereoisomers. Various reaction conditions for the addition of trans-piperylene to 2-cyclohexenone are also summarized.
