Abstract
This article presents analysis of Type-II censored data when the lifetime distribution follows beta log Weibull distribution. Parameter estimation under classical and Bayesian set up is undertaken. Asymptotic confidence intervals are obtained using observed information matrix. For comparison purpose bootstrap-p and bootstrap-t confidence intervals are also constructed. Bayes estimates of the unknown parameters and the reliability function are obtained using Tierney–Kadane’s approximation and Markov Chain Monte Carlo methods. A real data set is analyzed to illustrate the proposed strategies.
