Abstract

This article is devoted to the problem of developing reading literacy of primary school students. The author reviewed the research of scientists and teachers in the field of reading literacy and reading personality development. The idea of two interconnected lines in the process of child development has been studied: biological evolution and sociocultural formation in adolescence, namely in primary school with the creation of a favorable environment for the formation of interests and development of the child. Based on practical examples, the possibilities for effective development of reading literacy are shown.
