Abstract

In this paper the axiomatization of evolutionary theory by Mary Williams is discussed. It is argued that Williams' axiomatization is not a correct representation of the theory of evolution and that even if it were the accomplishment of this axiomatization would neither prove that the principle of natural selection is non-circular nor that there are laws in biology that have the same status as the fundamental laws of physics.
