Abstract
Alternative Hamiltonians which lead to the same Newton equations of motion are discussed. It is shown that the alternative Hamiltonians give phase-space description and Poisson brackets which are not canonically equivalent to the standard ones. It is also pointed out that new Poisson brackets are classical analogues of quantum mechanical commutators got in the Wigner-type approach to noncanonical quantizations.
