Abstract

In this paper an adaptive scheme, consisting of a perfect model-following controller and an adaptor, is used to control a robot arm which is required to manoeuvre various payloads along a prescribed trajectory. Simulation results are presented showing the performance of the system when the adaptor is implemented using (i) a relay adaptation law, (ii) a relay + integral adaptation law and (iii) a proportional + integral adaptation law.
