Abstract

The paper puts forward an idea of pipelining computational procedures of the pseudo Wigner-Ville (WV) spectral estimator (the Hilbert transform, the WV kernel and the FFT) that can be easily implemented in multiprocessor environment. Apart from that, an internal pipeline structure for computing the smoothed WV kernel is proposed, which decreases the number of complex multiplications almost by half. At present the WV transform is implemented in FORTRAN 77 language on the IBM Personal Computer. It is the main part of an integrated development system designed for initial and non-real-time WV spectra analysis of stochastic processes. The functions and parameters of the system are described.
