Abstract

The problem of transporting swaying cargoes on the vessels in the conditions of rough waters. To study the motion of the cargoes and forecast the emergency it is offered to use the vibratory displacement (transportation) theory mainly developed by the native scientists. The model describes the motion of a flat solid body along the vibrating rough surface. The using of the model enables one to define the velocity of the slow motion of the body and its direction either to the symmetry plane of the vessel or to its boards. The last case is related to the center of gravity shift of the vessel, which leads to an increased roll, or even capsizing. The critical roll angle is specified—the angle corresponding to the start and motion of the swaying cargo on board of the vessel. The possibility of using deformable or granular materials has been noted. A possible application to artificial intelligence-based accident prediction models was considered.
