Abstract
1) Edwards’ demonstration of the physical validity and practical use of our earlier concepts (references listed by Edwards) is most welcome. For a standard definition of spacing that would apply consistently to all arrays in relation to modified pseudosections or in general, the distance between the two outermost active electrodes seemed to us to be the answer. In this definition, the passive infinity electrodes, where they exist, do not count. This was not a matter of some sly “convenience” on our part but had the backing of what we believe are good reasons.
