Abstract

A best fit of a recently derived expression [1] for the electromagnetic nucleon form factors to the experimental data [2–9] has been made. For ⋎t⋎ ⩾ 1.1 (GeV/c)2 an excellent fit has been achieved, which is a difinite improvement over the dipole formula. The two mass values of a hypothetical ϱ' vector meson which give the best fit are mϱ' = 1140 ± 10 MeV and mϱ' = 1910 ± 6 MeV.
