Abstract

A critical analysis and extension of the results of a linear spectral method for stationary, axially homogeneous, plane turbulent flow between two fixed boundaries, are presented. This method aims at the determination of the spatial variation of the spectral density function, with the knowledge of the mean flow and the spectral structure of turbulence at one point in the flow core. The spectra for axial fluctuating velocity components are satisfactorily predicted.
