Abstract

The bivariate forms of many important discrete probability distributions have been studied by many statisticians. The trinomial, the double Poissoe, the bivariate negative binomial, and the bivariate logarithmic series distributions are in fact the bivariate generalizations of the well known uniwariate discrete distributions. In this paper we introduce the generalized form of the double poisson distribution and discuss some of its properties as well as the problems of estimation and goodness of fit.
