Abstract

We consider the parametrized quintic family of Thue equationsX(X2−Y2) (X2−a2Y2)−Y5=± 1 a∈Zand prove that it only has trivial solutions for ∣a∣≥ 3.6× 1019using a recent estimate for linear forms in three logarithms of algebraic numbers by P. Voutier.
