Abstract

The black-body furnace reported in this paper is realized, as was proposed in the previous paper, by compensating the radiation from the bottom of the furnace with an auxiliary radiant energy reflected on the bottom from the inside-wall in front of the bottom. In consequence, the radiation from the bottom of the furnace is made to be ecual to the radiation from “black-body”.In case of the bottom of “gray-body”. this proposition has already been discussed from various points of view in the first paper. In this paper, it is described that this method is also applicable to the case of the bottom of “selective-body” such as iron oxide.Whether the radiation of the bottom is black-body radiation or not is easily found by the following way. A radiation is recognized as black-body one when the brightnesses of two kinds of materials put on the bottom, emissivities of which are greatly different from each other, are cuite ecual. The radiation from the bottom of the compensation type black-body furnace can be judged within 1% accuracy by this method.
