On φ-ω mixing without symmetry breaking

Abstract

Irreducible representations of the Lie algebra G discussed in ref. 1) contain generally several irreducible representation of the intrinsic symmetry subalgebra SU( n). One class of such representations is discussed here. It is shown that for n=3 there is an irreducible representation suitable for classification of nine particles. Corresponding mass formula and SU(3) content are in very good agreement with experiment for the case of the vector meson nonet.
