Abstract

The placement of a ventricular catheter in patients with small ventricles carries the risks of catheter malfunction and bleeding. We report the use of computed tomography (CT) to place an Ommaya reservoir in two patients with acute myelogenous leukemia and one patient with lymphoma who had normal to small ventricles. The entire procedure was carried out in the scanner and demonstrates the feasibility of operations performed in the CT scanner. (Neurosurgery 9: 559-561, 1981)
