Abstract

The experimental data from the Marconi Wireless Telegraph Co. around-the-world voyage of 1922 and 1923 are statistically analysed to determine the difference in attenuation rates for v.l.f. radiowaves propagating in the east-west and west-east directions. The resulting difference in attenuation rates between east-west and west-east propagation is compared with a recent estimate given by the Omega Navigational System Committee.
