Abstract
The literature data on acetylene cyclo-oligomerisation and polymerisation reactions in the presence of transition metal compounds are reviewed. Both catalytic reactions leading to the synthesis of benzene and cyclo-octatetraene derivatives and linear polymers and cyclo-oligomerisation reactions leading to the formation of organometallic compounds are considered. Modern ideas on the mechanism of acetylene cyclo-oligomerisation and polymerisation reactions are discussed in detail. The bibliography includes 362 references.
