Abstract
Olianatrivia riberai n. gen., n. sp. (Mollusca, Caenogastropoda), a singular Ovulidae from the Bartonian (middle Eocene) of Catalonia (Spain).Shells of an Ovulidae species with unusual morphological features have been collected in the axial part of the Oliana anticline, Catalonia: Olianatrivia riberai n. gen., n. sp. (Mollusca, Caenogastropoda) whose shape and ornamentation remind some Triviinae. According to the chronostratigraphy of the South-Pyrenean basin, it belongs to a subrecifal facies, reworked by storm dynamics, of a Late Bartonian age (Middle Eocene). It is proposed to place O. riberai n. gen., n. sp. within the Pediculariinae, a subfamily of Ovulidae (Cypraeoidea), close to Cypropterina ceciliae (De Gregorio, 1880) from the Veronese Early Lutetian.
