Abstract

This article is an opportunity to share a look at the trainning and professionalism in Social Education at the present time and in the particular context of Higher Polytechnic Education. To this end, we propose to revisit circumstances, foundations and frameworks of theoretical and methodological reference that have accompanied the emergence and development of Social Education and the professional identity of the social educator, to question reconfigurations and challenges in the universes of social educator’s training and professional practice. From this reflection, based on an exploratory analysis that reconstructs the course at the Higher School of Education of the Polytechnic Institute of Santarem, options and approaches are systematized in the curricular, pedagogical, investigative and integration in professional contexts plans. Thus, the aim is to present the experience of an approach that is simultaneously formative / investigative, interdisciplinary, and theoretical-practical to the learning processes (throughout life), as appropriate to Social Educator´s trainning and professional practice, and to the construction of a professional training matrix. As a result, the opportunities and constraints of this training experience are mobilized in the operationalization of supervision modalities and in the proposals for training pedagogical practice. We conclude by indicating clues about appeals and opportunities that the views we share show us about learning, being and doing in Social Education. Keywords: Social Education; Trainning; Professional practice; Higher Teaching education; Lifelong learning.
