Abstract

It is frequently observed that the process parameters of a current cultivation may differ from previous runs used to develop a process model. Therefore, the off-line calculation of optimal feed profiles may lead to suboptimal results. The OLFO (Open Loop Feedback Optimal) controller is capable to adapt the actual feed profile to the behaviour of the actual running cultivation. In this contribution, the OLFO controller performance is investigated using three different models describing the cultivation of Cyathus striatus with different accuracy. A fourth, very detailed model serves as process simulator.
