Abstract
Fontan patients have reduced lung volumes and abnormal gas transfer. The mechanisms for this are poorly understood. We aimed to examine the association between: i) alveolar volume (VA), capillary blood volume (VC) and alveolar capillary membrane function (DmCO) and diffusion capacity of carbon monoxide (DLCO); ii) these parameters and lung resistance (R5) and elastance (X5); and iii) clinical parameters and lung function.
