The variables related to the dog are education, socialization, familiarity, activity and physiological status. This model offers a better understanding of injury risks from dog bites, particularly for children, and highlights the need for dog bite prevention from medical, psychological and social reports. Using this model, new prevention programs can be developed for reducing this problem, and improving the quality of life for both humans and pet dogs.
