Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine the effect of ethical climate on organizational commitment and teacher performance. The participants of the study consisted of 243 teachers working in the province of Sivas in the 2017-2018 academic year. In order to determine the relationship between variables and the degree of this relationship, relational survey model was used. Relational model was used in order to determine the relationship between variables and the degree of this relationship. “Ethical climate scale”, “organizational commitment scale” and “employee performance scale” were used in collecting data. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was performed to ensure the construct validity of the scales. The reliability of the scale was calculated by cronbach alpha reliability coefficient. Then, hypotheses and model were analyzed by AMOS 24 program. X2 / sd, GFI, CFI, AGFI, TLI, RMSEA, and SRMR values were taken into account in confirmatory factor analysis and evaluation of goodness of fit of the model. In this respect, the goodness of fit of the main model was calculated as X2 / sd = 1,068, GFI =, 906, CFI =, 990, AGFI =, 887, TLI =, 988, RMSEA =, 017 and SRMR = 0503. In the light of the findings of the study, it was found that the ethical climate in schools positively and significantly effect organizational commitment and that the ethical climate significantly explains the organizational commitment. Another finding of the study was that the ethical climate in schools positively and significantly effect teacher performance. In addition, ethical climate and organizational commitment positively and positively affect employee performance. In addition, ethical climate with organizational commitment positively and significantly affect employee performance. Also, ethical climate with organizational commitment significantly explain employee performance.
