Abstract

This study is about characteristics of transitional area which is accepted on the development of childrens and how the differentiation between fantasy and reality in children, and its effects on childrens drawings. It is well known that the differentiation between fantasy and reality in children is not as well defined as that of adults, in this transitional area, which fantastic thinking, play and narrative plays are effective on. It is seen that the flexibility is principal motivations of their creativity and how children use their fantastic thinking for making meaning of life experience and research the possibilities of the physical world. The study findings indicate how children convey their thoughts and experiences to their designs, serving to make the world meaningful, and the richness they contain throughout their artistic developmental stages in terms of form, relationship and function. In this process, it is questioned how much the evaluation criteria for the development of the three-dimensional perspective from scribal drawings of the children reflect their purpose and interests.
