Abstract

OK-432 is used as a chemotherapeutic agent in the treatment of cancer. Since 1987, however, it has been successfully used as a sclerotherapy agent in the treatment of cystic pathologies. A cystic malformation, known as ranula, is very common in the head and neck region. For this reason, sclerotherapy with OK-432 started to be used in the treatment of ranulas in the 1990s.
