Abstract
This study describes the oil pollution of sediments at Mediterranean beaches (in the region between Ma'amoura, Miami, Sidi Beshr) and the Red Sea beaches (in the region between Nozha Beach, Marina, Bent el-Sultan, Golden beach, and Sudr). These marine sediments were examined mainly by sieving, petrographic microscope and then oil was extracted and analyzed by gas chromatography. The main target of this analysis is to investigate whether the level of the pollutants are within the safety permissible range or not.
